Serving on the Decorah City Council has always been about one simple truth for me: giving back to the community that has given me so much. Public service is not about a title, it’s about listening, showing up, and working hard to make sure our city thrives.
I also know that the art of public perception can be challenging—especially for younger elected officials. With that comes unique expectations and, at times, added scrutiny. But I see those challenges as opportunities to grow, learn, and ultimately become a stronger representative for the people of Decorah.
My commitment is to continue serving with transparency, respect, and collaboration at the center of everything I do. I am here not only to serve, but also to learn from each of you as neighbors and community members. Together, we can keep building a Decorah that reflects the best of who we are today, while preparing for the future ahead.
Please feel free to reach out or share your thoughts anytime—I’m always here to have a conversation.
